San Francisco — The Jewish Community Relations Council (JCRC) expressed its horror at the terrorist attack yesterday at the Merkaz Harav Yeshiva in Jerusalem, which has thus far resulted in eight deaths of innocent students.
JCRC executive director Rabbi Douglass Kahn issued the following statement:
“From Sderot to Israel’s capital, Jerusalem, Israelis must be given the chance to live peacefully in their homes and in their schools. JCRC is deeply disturbed and saddened by the news of yesterday’s terrorist attack on the Merkaz Harav Yeshiva in Jerusalem. The deliberate murder of civilians, in this case rabbinic students, is abhorrent and cannot be tolerated. Our hearts go out to the families of the victims, and we pray for a speedy recovery for those who were injured in this brutal attack.
“While the search for peace will and must continue, the Israeli people are still in desperate need of security from this kind of senseless violence.”
